I’m a day late in blogging, but it was not forgotten. One year ago on February 27, 2012 Elijah Wayne Madsen became PERMANENTLY OURS FOREVER!
We originally created this website to share our first adoption journey with all of our family and friends. As our family grows, it has now become our "electronic journal". Enjoy sharing in our journey and ultimately the destination of a family of FIVE!

Snow Fun!
Tuesday, Feb. 26th, we had a large snow (about 4 inches) and I stayed home from work. With Sam being off, we enjoyed a WONDERFUL day home as a family. It was a blast. This is the first really good snow we’ve had in a couple years and Eli is just now old enough to enjoy it. Here are some pictures before we destroyed the serene beauty of white…

In the afternoon, we all bundled up and had good old-fashioned fun of snowman building, eating snow and making snow angels. Eli LOVED it (as you can see!).

It's all fun until someone lands in a puddle!
We went outside, briefly, yesterday to enjoy the sunshine as a family and get out of the house. Eli was dying to play in the snow but ended up having even more fun in a muddy water puddle. As you'll see in the picture progression, he was having a blast until we made him go in to take a bath. He had an inch of water that I poured out of his boots!

| Uh-Oh! |
I don't wanna go in!!!!!!

Our little "hipster"
Eli tried to put his stocking cap on BY HIMSELF so he could eat a popcicle (maybe that makes sense to a toddler??) and he didn't quite get it on correctly. However, when I tried to straighten it, I was strongly refused... he liked it the way it was! Ha!!
My Buddy and Me
Uncle Allan gave Eli a Cabbage Patch doll for Christmas and Baby (no name) has been a near constant companion. Here I caught Eli watching TV with Baby. Baby MUST ALWAYS be bundled up in the blanket or Eli gets mad. It is really cute watching him interact and makes me all the more sure that he is as excited to be a big brother as we are. Baby gets lots of kisses and diaper changes... hope he continues that with a real sibling!
Happy Valentine's Day (late!)
These pictures were supposed to be attached to a Valentine's message, but the busted lip (see previous post) happened the next day and I never got the blog added. Anyway, they are too cute not to share and we had alot of fun taking them! As you can see, we have a little "poser" on our hands!

Catching up...
Ok, I am quite behind. It has been a couple of eventful weeks and my internet has been down so here's the updates I've been meaning to make:
January 26th:
Daddy, Eli and I spent the day at the playground at Fairview Elementary. It was one of Mommy's first major outings and we had lots of fun.
February 5th:
Gramma, Mommy and Eli took a walk on a beautiful, sunny afternoon at George Washington Carver Park. Eli was more interested in leaves and rocks (things we already have at home) than anything else - go figure!
