Happy Fall, Ya'll!

To begin, we had a full day of fun on Saturday starting with going to Leggett's Fall Festival.  Yes, I see the irony in returning to L&P a mere 4 days after quitting....

Train rides on the Shriner's train

Horse drawn buggie ride
After we came home, I tried to take my annual Halloween photos.  While I did get some that turned out pretty good, you haven't seen all of the ones that didn't!!  Try taking photos of an active toddler who hasn't had a nap.... ;)

Our little Frankenstein!

Scary, huh?

He was waaaaay done with pictures by this time....
And to end the evening on a perfect note, we had our own little bonfire in our backyard and I even allowed us to eat smores BEFORE dinner. (gasp!!)

These giggles are most precious

I love my family and I love memories like these!  What a PERFECT fall day!!

Pumpkin Painting Fun

This morning, we let Eli try his hand (literally) at pumpkin painting.  He had a blast!!!  It turned out pretty cool and even though it was a little messy, it was not near as bad as carving.  I can definately see this being a new tradition....

the "before"

look, Ma, I'm messy!

almost done ~ let it dry...

cleaning up is almost as fun as painting!!

oh. my. goodness.
'nuff said!

DONE!!!

My new official title....

As of noon on Wednesday, October 23rd, (which also just so happens to be Eli's 1/2 b-day) I took on a new, very important job title: stay-at-home mommy!!  It's been a long time coming and we finally took the leap of faith.  It's terrifying but we are so excited to be in this new chapter of our lives!  Eli made me so happy in my decision since he's been counting down the days until "Mommy stays home forever".  Who could say no to that?!?  I love this little boy so much!

As an extra bonus, it's extremely nice to actually get to see my hubby too!!  Love you, babe!

Annual Sapp Family Camping Trip

October 12th-13th @ Roaring River

Jim and Tammy rented a 4-plex and a camp site so we could get the best of both worlds, i.e. warm, dry beds and outdoor cooking!!

Tim and Emily and the kids weren't able to come, but Eli and Maddie played exceptionally together.  They are the cutest cousins!

And the journey begins again.....

Here we are, once again, in the waiting list.  While it is nerve-racking, there is also a sense of excitement to be in this position, like it's leading up to Christmas morning and you are so excited to see what your gift is going to be!

Anyway, below is our update that I received last night.  It looks promising - though we've learned not to get our hopes up too much each time.  I am VERY happy that we will FINALLY be the "Featured Family" and I am busily working on getting our feature article together.  Sadly though, on paper, we are a very simple and somewhat boring family compared to others.  I can't compete with featured families that take trips to the Virgin Islands and live in Hawaii or such.  I wrote that our last family vacation was a camping trip to the river.... wooo-hooo!  We are who we are and the right person will choose us regardless.

Update:

Hi,
I hope this update finds you well. I know last month was horrible for the 3 of you and I want you to know we are prayerful that your baby is on the way. We continue to pray for Julie as well and reach out to her. We have had an active month at Adoption Answer. A few matches, a few births and several new birth moms!

Currently your profile is out with 3 of our new birth moms - they are considering your family and we hope to have good news very soon:) One of these birth moms is due very soon while the other two are due in the late winter/early spring. All are located on the west coast.

We continue to pray and work for you and we are here if you need to talk.

God Bless
