Big shoes to fill

One of Eli’s favorite “hobbies” is to walk around in either mine or Daddy’s shoes.  He can move surprisingly fast in Daddy’s size 11 clompers!  What a silly kid!

This is summer….

Eli “helped” me plant the garden on Friday (17th).  It’s not the prettiest (rows are a little crooked) but it got done.  We’d also stopped at Sonic for a treat on the way home and he fell in love with a Blue Coconut slushy (Mommy’s favorite too!).  We were supposed to share, but you can see from the photo that he pretty much claimed it as his own.  Slushy + water + garden = summer fun

You’ve got to accessorize!

Just too cute not to post.  No story behind it except that Eli prefers to run around “naked”.  This particular day, he went and got his hat and decided he was cool stuff….

Dad/Papa – do you recognize the hat?

Mother’s Day 2013

Yes, I know I’m late in posting… I’m catching up today.

Mother’s Day was spent at Nathanael Greene Park in Springfield.  It is an awesome and gorgeous park and was a lot of fun.  Eli especially liked the butterfly habitat.

Term of Endearment

Eli was being a stinker when I was trying to leave this morning and wouldn’t tell me good-bye or give me a kiss.  Sam told him “Tell your mother ‘I love you’, at least.”  Without missing a beat, Eli turned around and said “I love you, Beast.”  Ok….. that’ll work. J

Adoption Update #8

I actually received this update last Thursday evening…

We have two birth-moms looking at our profile.  However, we are being considered as one of 4 with one mom and one of 5 with the other mom.  One is on the east coast and one is on the west coast.  One is due in August and one is due in September.

Our online profile has not been updated because they lost the first one I sent them and then forgot to do it the second time I sent it to them.  I strongly suggested, for all of our benefits, that they get it fixed this week.

Our adoption “agent” received her adopted baby on Sunday so we are at the mercy of her boss to let us know if there are any updates on these two birth-moms, until Ashlene returns from baby leave.

Please say a prayer for 1) the birth-mom’s decisions and 2) our patience and faith in God’s timing.

Party on…

We are party-ed out from this weekend.  Saturday morning we celebrated our friend, Asher’s, 3rd birthday, then had pictures taken at JCP Saturday afternoon (they turned out amazing!!), then Sunday after church we went to the party for our little friend, Harlow’s, 1st birthday, then home to get ready for Eli’s party that afternoon.  OH MY!!!  Too many friends all born around the same time!  All the kids had fun though and were super hyped up on cake.

We had lots of fun at Eli’s party, and I really think everyone else did too.  We had 20 adults and 9 children attend, including us.  It made for a packed, loud, chaotic house but it worked ok.  After dinner, gifts and cake, we all went outside since it was gorgeous and let the kids play and run some energy out.  It was super muddy outside, which is why we had to move the majority of the party indoors, but the parents didn’t seem to mind.

Eli got tons of really cool gifts, and didn’t get any duplicates!  He is having a great time playing with everything!  He also loved his fishing themed party and kept asking to eat the worms (see picture below for explanation).  I thought it turned out very cute and I had a great time planning it.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME AND CELEBRATED OUR SPECIAL LITTLE MAN WITH US!!
