COUNTDOWN ~

Though we’ve had a few small timing set-backs since my last post, the end is finally near and our hearts are beating faster and faster!! Our last “waiting period” will be finished on February 22nd. Then, as soon as the judge signs the final documents, the adoption is closed and sealed!

I again reference the song “While I’m Waiting” by John Waller. Ironically, the first time I posted this song on my blog was April 9th, 2011. How little I knew… that the Lord was preparing our child’s birth within the next few weeks after that post!

So, Lord, here I am again… and I’ll praise you while I wait.

While I’m Waiting by John Waller

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Count, Pray, Worship and Wait with me – 30 days left to go!

Breakthrough!

Eli’s 1st tooth FINALLY popped through!! That is so exciting for us. It’s visible evidence that our little boy is growing up so quickly. Seemingly too quickly… where has the time gone? How do we have a 9-month-old already?!

A letter to our son:

Dearest baby Eli,

Yesterday we officially became your “legal guardians”. We’ve been your parents since you were a little bitty 5 day old baby but now we are 40(ish) days away from being yours forever!! You have no idea how happy this makes your Daddy and me, your Gramma and Papa, Auntie Amanda and Uncle Lee, and all your Great-Grandmas and Great-Grandpas, Great-Uncles, cousins, friends, etc. Everyone that knows you loves you so, so much!! You are such a good little boy and we couldn’t have hand-crafted you to be any more perfect. We are so excited to watch you grow up and see what you become. We have such great expectations for you. No matter what, though, we are so proud to have you as our son. You are a blessing like no other. We love you, baby boy.

Love you always and forever~
Mommy and Daddy

A blessed Holiday Season –

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I meant to post closer to Thanksgiving, as we have so much to be thankful for this year, but time got away from me.

We are continually reminded of just how blessed we are as we watch our son grow and change. He’ll be 8 months old come Christmas and it is so hard to believe we’ve had him that long; on the other hand though, it seems like he’s been with us forever. Sometimes it’s hard to remember “life before child”. He is talking, rolling, crawling (sort-of, more like scooting), waving “bye-bye” and he has such a hilarious personality too! His newest fun feature is shaking his head no. It truly seems like he is answering us as he usually shakes his head at the most opportune times… like when we ask him if he is ready for “night-night” (not that he really has a choice).

We continue to ask for prayers on our behalf… mainly, specifically, for patience for Sam and me. The end of this particular journey seems so close, yet still so far away. It’s been frustrating, heart-wrenching, annoying… and many more emotions… but when we can sit before the judge and be told “he’s yours forever”, IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT!

Looking forward to 2012 – what’s bound to be the best year of our lives!

Love to all –
Jenny

Good things come to those who wait...

... and wait... and wait... and wait.

I know it has been so long since my last post but we have been so busy with our little, joyful, amazing baby. Things aren't just good, they're great!

October 23rd our little guy will be 6 months old! Unbelievable, huh?! Where has time gone?

Everything involved in his case has gone extremely smooth and if all goes well, should continue without a hitch. While it looks like "a sure thing" we are skeptical to become completely confident in the system of foster care. This will be our last time having to deal with them though. Little man will be our 8th and last chapter of our foster care journey.

Continue following our journey and praying for a quick finalization. Hopefully, my next post will be one of extreme excitement... a new "forever family"!!

Update - 10 1/2 wks old

Sorry for the long periods in between updates. We seem to have had some prayers answered yesterday!! Thank you for those of you continuing to follow us and our progress. It is looking very good that our little man might be ours forever! We now just have to, in faith and patience, wait for the court system to change his case goal. That may take a while, unfortuately, but we are enjoying our small victories until then! He is 10 1/2 weeks old and growing like a weed!! We love him so dearly and can't believe how QUICKLY time is flying by! I'll continue to keep adding news as I can... sorry for the cryptic nature of some of the info but it is in the best interest for our little boy and the situation.

Continue praying... THANK YOU!!

Only a short update... to please my Dad :0)

Hi everyone - sorry it's been a while!

I don't know who all is still following this site, but I do know of one faithful fan that wanted me to put something on here... so here you go! (LOVE YOU!)

There is not much I am allowed to report on here regarding Eli's situation but I can say that all is going very well right now. We are LOVING parenthood (except between 1-5 in the morning... ha ha)and Eli is such a wonderful baby! He is growing like a weed and we can't believe he's already 6 weeks old today! If there was a way I'd want a foster case to go, I guess this would be it. Now, we just need to pray that he will be ours forever. Please join us, or continue in, that endeavor. We have a long wait ahead of us and honestly, things will be quiet for a while with nothing new to report.

As for our private adoption status, it is still just "paused". We would like to know what our future with Eli is before deciding on where to go with that adoption. Adoption Answer still keeps tabs on us and keeps in touch and are very supportive of us and our family... in whatever way that takes shape. It is still exciting to see other families matched and growing and I still regularly visit the site to see what is new and happening. All-in-all though, all we wanted was to be Mom and Dad and we are that... so we are happy.

Hopefully I'll get to update with more definite details soon!
